PESSN FEMALE PLAYER PATHWAY
We are now in a position where we can offer a female player pathway for all girls from 5 years old.
In-School Sports Programme
- Programme run and delivered by our Girls Sports Lead, Joe Howard.
- 6 week block of football sessions open to all year groups. (Takes place during school hours)
- Yearly one-day competitions and festivals, including football league for KS2 pupils.
- Gifted & Talented ID Days for KS2 pupils.
- In-School focus groups to allow pupils to voice their own views.
Wildcats & Squad Girls Centre
- Weekly sessions (term time only) on 4G surface at Burgess Park.
- Sessions are FREE to attend and open to all girls aged 5-14.
- Sessions planned by joint network manager, Wilson Frimpong, and delivered by network coaches.
- Over 100 girls currently registered, of which 30% have come from our in-school programme.
Southwark Jaguars FC
- Weekly training sessions at local primary school. League matches played on a Sunday.
- Club founded in 2023 with 44 girls registered across U9, U10 and U11 teams.
- 80% of girls from BAME backgrounds.
- Over 30% of girls are Muslim.
- Aim to have 75 girls playing competitive football across six teams by 24/25 season.
Emerging Talent Centre
- Clear pathway into local ETC’s which is organised through joint network lead, Wilson Frimpong and local clubs.
- Ambition to have at least two girls from each age group following this path each season.
- Currently have 13 girls attending trials at local professional club.
