Updated primary competition information
Just a quick update on our competition plans for Autumn term. Our competition provision will be mostly non-contact, virtual and in-school delivery following guidance from Youth Sport Trust and London Youth Games who are doing the same. The hope is that spring term will see the return of inter-school competition.
The following virtual competitions will be part of the London Youth Games pathway in Autumn term:
Biathlon (SEND), Cross Country, Yr 3/4 Sportshall Athletics, Yr 5/6 Sportshall Athletics, Yr 3/4 Dance, Yr 5/6 Dance
All of the above are virtual competitions so results/dances will be sent in to Josh Daniels and passed onto LYG to be compared London wide.
We will be happy to come in and help collecting results or if you are happy to do this yourselves then feel free. Once formats have been confirmed I’ll update you further.
There will be NO football competitions or football league this term. We are hoping to run these in spring term.
Instead we will be releasing weekly football challenges which pupils can gain points for their school. We will encourage everyone to get involved with the challenges as they will be easy to do in school and can be used in warm ups or in lessons.
Replacing our multiskills and challenge days we will be offering schools opportunities to book in a multiskills or challenge day session working with a bubble in your school. This will be around October. I will send out more info on this in the coming weeks.
Finally, we are hoping to organise some cross country races @ a few parks in the borough. Schools will book a timeslot so they are the ONLY school attending at the time and will complete the track and times will be recorded. Strict COVID-19 measures will be in place.
We appreciate not all schools will be willing to do this and leave their school site so if you are keen please let us know ASAP so I have a rough idea of numbers.
Please contact Josh Daniels (josh@lpessn.org.uk) for more information.
